Build a Home in Iron County - North Twin Builders

Iron County – Come for the Fun, Find Home!

Named for the rich iron ore that was found within it’s borders, Iron County is a beautiful area located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Although mining operations have ceased in the area, there are still remnants of the old days to be found. Remaining mining headframes, as well as slurry ponds, set the scene for outstanding photography opportunities in this beautiful forested region of Michigan.

North Twin Builders has constructed many new homes in Iron County, and will be happy to help you realize your dream home here.

Year Round Activities

All four seasons are busy with events and activities. Spring is a great time to check out miles of hiking and biking trails and to catch a glimpse of the migrating birds as they make their way north. In the summer, much of the population can be found taking advantage of the 314 lakes and approximately 900 miles of rivers found here. Fall creates magical scenery with the many species of trees showing off their bright colors for all to enjoy. And in the winter, snow sports such as skiing and snowmobiling take top priority, along with dog sledding and ice fishing.

Get Out and Enjoy!

With numerous lakes, rivers, forests, trails, and parks, you’ll never run out of places to go and sights to see.  With friendly residents and a picturesque countryside, Iron County is a place for relaxation and recreation for all ages and lifestyles. From camping, fishing, hiking, and sailing to whitewater kayaking and downhill skiing, it’s hard not to be excited about getting out and having fun!

Rainy Day Discoveries

Due to Iron County’s history tied to mining and logging ventures, there are many interesting places to enjoy should a rainy day ruin your outdoor plans. Caspian, Crystal Falls, and Alpha have museums to explore. Iron River hosts the annual UP Pro Rodeo, which draws people from all over! The courthouse, located in Crystal Falls, also contains a History Room where you can learn many interesting facts. And if the sun decides to peak out after all, you can visit the Pentoga Park Indian Burial Grounds preserved as a tribute to Native Americans.
