Follow these simple tips to keep insects out of your home!
Use a trash can with a tight-fitting lid
Wipe down counters often
Don’t let dishes soak in the sink overnight
Store pet food in airtight containers
Rinse containers before putting them in a recycling bin
Use weather stripping on any doors leading outside
Make sure window/door screens don’t have any holes or tears
Check the walls inside your house for cracks and crevices and seal with caulk
Look for gaps where pipes and electrical wiring enter the house and seal with caulk or expanding foam
Keep piles of firewood away from buildings and keep the wood off the ground
For an alternative to insect sprays with harmful chemicals, sprinkle used coffee grounds outside around the foundation of your house. Especially making sure to get around windows and doors. You can also mix the grounds with water and pour over ant hills.
